Welcome to Wellsford Kereru Kindy

78 Rodney Street, Wellsford – 09 423 8246

The enormous backyard at our friendly kindy provides magical opportunities for children to discover, imagine and learn. From baking a cake in our mud kitchen, to running and jumping on the playground, or quietly enjoying a story under a shady tree, Kereru Kindy provides a special experience for every child.

  • Our hours are Monday to Friday 7:30am to 5:30pm
  • Sessions are all day or half day or kindy sessions to suit your family
  • We are licenced for just 30 children from babies through to 5 years of age
  • We offer 20 hours free to children aged 3 and 4 years and we are Winz subsidy approved
  • We are a lunch box centre – children bring their snacks and lunch just as they do at school

We have been rated by the Education Review Office as ‘Well placed’. To read all the details of the findings please click here.

A sample of the reports says:

Teachers respond well to children’s interests and support them to investigate, revisit and extend their ideas. They plan learning experiences that extend children’s understanding about the world around them. Teachers recognise and celebrate the learning that occurs through children’s imaginative and creative play and share this information with whānau in a variety of useful ways.

Or to enrol with us, please click on the link below to print the enrolment form. Please complete it and bring it in with you on your first visit. We will also need a copy of your child’s birth certificate and immunisation record.

Our centre is a nurturing, calm teaching and learning environment, a home from home.

Our children have the freedom to choose inside or out, to direct their own learning, free roaming for authentic, meaningful learning adventures.

We aim to teach children life skills, to instil a love of learning that will be with them forever

Our centre culture is one of inclusion and acceptance. We take a Te Ao Maori approach.

Communication with whanau allows children to make connections with their home environment and feel a sense of belonging at kindy
